Agriculture is unique in its characteristics, different crop are cultivated in its variety of agro-climatic regions. A stable agricultural sector ensures national food security which is the main requirement of any country. Malnourishment, which has historically been seen as one of the main issues facing developing nations, is prevented by food security. The majority of nations rely on agricultural goods and related businesses as their primary sources of income. The majority of the wage items needed by non-agricultural industries are provided by agriculture. It serves as the source of raw materials for numerous service and agricultural sectors.
Rapid population growth and significant climatic change pose a threat to global food security. As a result of climate change, plant stressors are now the most important factors that limit crop production and, in the long run, food security.
The ultimate goal of this book “A Textbook of Stress Crop Production” is to increase food production on a continuous basis by managing plant stress and maintaining the natural resource base in accordance with the carrying capacity of the supporting agro-ecosystem.
