Being an obstetrician and gynaecologist, it is our responsibility to manage a high-risk patient at an optimum level. But sometimes normal pregnancy emerges as a high-risk pregnancy. Pre-eclampsia with or without fetal growth restriction is such a condition. In today’s era, many tools and markers are available which can predict the same. The earliest prediction and optimum intervention are the demands of such a situation.

Uterine artery Doppler changes can be picked up at the earliest by the 11th week of gestation. It is a non-invasive tool. This publication is all about the need for recommendations to use UAPI in the first trimester, along with a level scan for all pregnancies. Most of the area still lacks coverage of this tool. It helps in earliest to incorporate low-dose aspirin to control the situation.

This publication would not have been possible without the guidance of my seniors, Dr Vineeta & Dr Ajay Kumar. I will be thankful to them. With this study, I polished myself in obstetric ultrasound.
