In today’s modern life style Cloud, Big Data and IoT have become our closest associates. Starting our day with good morning messages with friends and relatives, walking with the step count apps in our mobile phones, smart watches recording our blood pressures and oxygen levels, face book, Google, Online shopping, Digital payments and many more such activities are essential part of our lives. All these activities have one common nature of generating data in bulk and give rise to Big Data.

In last two decades computing has also changed significantly. Starting from the Database Management Systems to Relational dbms, Object Oriented dbms and Object Relational dbms it has come to Big Data now. There is a thin line between the Big Data vs Massive Data Analysis which has been elaborated in this book by the authors. Traditional database systems focus on storage, indexing, and query handling. On the contrary ‘inference from the data’ is the main focus in massive data analysis. In this book the authors have presented a use case on the IoT perspective of massive data analysis.
