A Text Book of Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence is intended for the third year Pharm. D students as per the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) syllabus. It will also be useful for B. Pharm students, as much of the syllabus overlaps between the two courses.
Pharmaceutical jurisprudence is a key subject that introduces the laws, regulations, and ethical principles governing the practice of pharmacy. The content has been presented in simple and clear language, with sufficient depth to meet the academic and examination requirements of students. Standard references and authentic sources have been consulted to maintain accuracy and relevance.
One of the main reasons for writing this book was the lack of a single reference covering all twelve chapters of the syllabus. While topics such as the Drug Price Control Order (DPCO) and the Patents and Designs Act are available in other books, the explanations are often difficult for students to follow. Likewise, Prescription and Non-Prescription (OTC) Studies are not adequately covered in existing jurisprudence textbooks. This book brings together all these topics in one volume, explained in a student-friendly manner.
I sincerely hope this book serves as a valuable resource for students, teachers, and professionals alike. Constructive suggestions and feedback are warmly welcomed, as they will help in further improving the quality and usefulness of this work.
