We are blessed to have the nature that is capable to respond to the human security issues. The humans destroyed the nature at huge extent but it didn’t destroy them as they did. However, if people continue, the nature will react and this will affect the humans. People were given the time to correct the committed mistakes but most of them don’t care, that is why the death will come from where the health is. In some past decades, our education system was not capable to explore the opportunities that we have in our nature. Our department of pharmacy focused at selling the medicines from abroad instead of making medicines using our medicinal plants. Our department of medicine didn’t put efforts in promoting what many people call traditional medicine to put it at a modern level. People in Rwanda believe that the modern medicine is the one from abroad and they forget that we are able to develop our modern medicine using our resources and partner with others for a win-win purpose. The COVID-19 challenged many countries and it was a shame to us in many African countries to wait for vaccines to come from abroad. Why couldn’t we make our own? Why should we believe that others will help us before their people? What do they use to make the vaccines that we don’t have here in Africa? Why have we been happy to receive instant of giving? We lack the consistency in our medical and medicinal industries. We have a lot in nature including medicines and food but a little has been done in Africa to discover and use those resources. Our ancestors discovered the list of food from the wild but it was not exhaustive. It is sad that in the time the education seems to be developed, many people are not discovering the new food in the nature to respond to the human security issues and promote the one health system. This book shows you a list of some medicinal plants and I wish you to read it, think strategically and act locally to become a global citizen after succeeding in your country.
